As we continue to monitor the rapidly changing impact COVID-19 has had on our members, employees, and our communities, we want you to know that we remain committed to serving your banking needs. Based on our county exposure levels, our management feels the appropriate amount of time has passed to begin the process of returning a sense of normalcy to our lives. In this effort, we are beginning to unwind some of our pandemic response actions.

Please Respect “Stay-At-Home” Order! We love our members! But we are asking you to PLEASE stay at home if you do not need our immediate services. We are expanding our availability but please continue to respect the social distancing guidelines which have helped us to reach this point. Our staff will be continuing to employ cleaning, personal safety, and social distancing barriers for their protection. We encourage our members to continue to use masks, gloves, and other safety protocols as they see fit.
Stimulus Direct Deposits Stimulus deposits have been received and deposited to our members. There are still many who have not yet received their checks. Assistance Programs Continuing With financial assistance programs coming in the weeks ahead, the credit union has been working quickly to ensure that your financial well-being is supported. Desert Valleys is here to help and we encourage members who may be impacted by COVID-19 to reach out to discuss how we might be of assistance. Here are just a few options available:
Skip-A-Pay your next monthly payment on your Desert Valleys personal loan, credit card, auto loan, or other non-real estate collateralized loan. In response to the times, Desert Valleys is waiving the $25 fee for Skip-A-Pay through April 30. Our skip-a-pay request form is available online here. Due to staff availability, please allow up to 5 days for processing.
0% Emergency Loans may now be applied for on-line through our home banking platform. We will be able to begin funding these requests on April 1st for up to $3,000. These loans do have some requirements and are still subject to credit approval. Members are encouraged to apply if they need some financial assistance.
SBA PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) Program has been designed to provide immediate payroll relief to small businesses most deeply affected by the crisis. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has produced a detailed guide to the program. Desert Valleys is now an SBA Approved Lender and we have helped 33 local businesses in keeping employees working through this program. Congressional funding for the program ran out on April 15th but we are expecting that additional funding may become available in the future. If you would like to get a jump on the process, application forms are online here to help you assemble the necessary information if funding is restored.
Mortgage Borrowers and Business Members were sent details via email on March 27th. We are working this week on deferment programs for each categories and will be reaching out to these members again this week. Some of the programs are being developed in conjunction with legislative actions, so there are a lot of quickly moving pieces. We hope to have a solution for members shortly. If you have concerns, please contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org

Don’t Be Scammed!During moments of crisis, people will rise to the occasion or work to exploit it. Unfortunately, we are seeing a drastic increase in the number of scams being attempted against the elderly and financially effected members of our community. There is no “special” treasury program to get your funds more quickly and you should never expose your personal information – such as your name, password, PIN or other account information. Please check out this list of tips you can do to keep your information safe. Don’t let fear make you a victim!
